Originally from Leeds, I am a UK-based writer and former theatre director.
I’ve worked extensively as a director in the West End, on UK No 1 Tours, on Broadway and in Canada, on large scale musicals as well as plays. I spent a year as Staff Director at The Royal National Theatre, as well as tenures at The Traverse Theatre in Edinburgh and The Tricycle (now Kiln).
A combination of the pandemic and motherhood led me to switch my focus to writing. My most recent work is the 5-part drama The Lives of Hildegard von Bingen, directed by Fay Lomas and broadcast on Radio 3 in April 2026. It was beautifully, powerfully performed by the great Juliet Stevenson.
